Away: Again to Arosa
Arosa is an amazing getaway destination for those who want to completely get away. It is not the "see and be seen" crowd that one can get used to in Dallas. You won't run in to half of Highland Park and 1/3 of your kids soccer team. It is remote and stunning. You fly to Zurich and then take a train to Chur and then Arosa. The scenery is gorgeous, and the hikes can range anywhere from beginner to expert. We stay at The Tschugghen Grand Hotel, which offers a private train to the mountain, amazing spa, indoor swimming pool, four restaurants (including a one Michelin Star restaurant), and spacious rooms- perfect for travel with children. They also give you an "Arosa Card" that you can use for the lifts, trains, high ropes course and to rent boats! …basically this means that all mountain activities are free with this card (yes, please!).

Spa Suite at The Tschuggen Hotel
In the sprit of getting away from it all, of course you'll want to find a place to relax and unwind- this was at the TOP of my vacation wishlist. You can rent suites at The Tschuggen Grand for a luxurious afternoon at the spa, complete with dry and steam sauna, whirlpool, TV, Lounging area, and music of your choice. Mark and I had a wonderful couples massage! I have also had a facial that was out of this world good!
I'll hand it to the swiss, they have all of the best skin care lines and use them generously during your treatment. I also had a pedicure that was perfect for tired booted feet after hiking!

All in all, this was yet another amazing trip to Arosa, but I can't stay too long because there is even MORE yet to explore! It was fabulous, Arosa. Next stop? St. Moritz!
